The work plan consists of two major project parts. Part A aims at the investigation of the producer gas impact on solid oxide fuel cells. A test-rig for the testing of single planar and tubular membranes will be installed at different representative gasification sites in order to test the impact of different gas compositions and pollutants. These tasks are necessary to define the requirements for the gas cleaning system.
The second part of the project (part B) will thus comprise the layout and testing of an appropriate hot gas cleaning system and the innovative SOFC concept with internal heatpipe cooling. An economic evaluation and an assessment of the environmental impact of the system will be performed.
